ONE
It is certainly a paradox: even deceived end times man KNOWS his time in this life is short and limited.
AND YET…
The vast majority of humanity conduct their lives as if they will endure forever.
TWO
Modern man is well acquainted with times of sudden chaos which intrude upon his life without warning.
- The sudden outbreak of destructive modern warfare
- A sudden financial crash
- Any other sudden occurrence which changes many aspects of the way life is lived
AND YET…
The vast majority of humanity conduct their lives as if tomorrow will be like yesterday and today.
THREE
For centuries, God’s Word has warned man of the deceptions–both in general and specifically–which take place in the end times.
AND YET…
End times man has not only allowed himself to drift into those deceptions, he has run to embrace new ones with which his ancestors were unfamiliar.
The preceding three paradoxes all point to a fourth paradox.
FOUR
End times man has nothing of value to lose by repenting (changing his direction/mind), throwing himself on God’s mercy and coming into the kingdom of heaven.
AND YET…
He not only resists the urge to obtain salvation for himself and his family, he is hostile to any who attempt to assist him in this endeavor.
Man’s life is like a shadow.
And in man’s relatively short time in this world–in which he finds time for 1001 trivial pursuits–he does not seem able to find the time to ensure his eternal happiness.
“Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.”
