Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada.
Thanksgiving has been called the “most American of holidays.”
And so it is.
The Bible declares that one should give thanks EVERY DAY.

America sets aside ONE DAY a year to give thanks–and lately, many use part of that day for shopping and securing bargains.

Another pagan god. And not just any pagan god–a “serpentine” pagan god!
What a coincidence!
What a great name for a “Christian” prize! (Lest anyone think differently, the establishment of this prize was announced on a Christian PR website.)
Of course, most will be looking at the $50,000 and not the name.
Which, one suspects, is the point.

No, not all of the injuries would be suicide attempts. However, suicide and self-injury (in this case) are connected.
Satan’s Mouthpiece uses a variety of masks for this circumstance: “self-pain” and “self-harm” being the latest ones favored.
Back in the day, they were called “cutters” and everyone knew what was being discussed.
There’s a LONG history of “cutting.”
“And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.”

There’s also a reason why teen and pre-teen girls are the groups most affected. It has to do with the reality of this situation–NOT the alternate reality which this story presents.
Back in the day, the main reason “cutters” gave for doing what they did?
“It makes me feel better.”
Answering the question “WHY does it make them feel better” goes a long way to connecting the dots to both the recent and ancient descriptions of “self-harm.”
…and once that question is answered, then the reader will likely know how suicide and self-injury (in this case) are connected.

One easy way to tell is the use of “Why” and “How” in the headlines of an article. When the reader sees “Why?” or “How?” in the headline–occasionally “What” is used–that which follows will be a fairy tale, a narrative, a bedtime story spun by the media for the benefit of the media’s master. “Why” usually denotes an on-going narrative; “How” signifies a story line which explains past events. Not all narratives begin with “How” or “Why.” However, the most in-your-face, over-the-top ones usually do. ALL political “news” is narrative.
